This workshop is designed for beginner women 18 years old or older. This one day fly fishing workshop will be held at Wizard Falls Hatchery along the Metolius River, a premier location for this type of event. Our magnificent Instructors in this unique seting, will cover equipment selection and use, terminology, how to read the water, matching the hatch, fly casting and fishing techniques, stream ecology and essential knots. You’ll get to practice your skills while fishing on the pond at the hatchery (a privilege in and of itself!) and experience what it feels like to catch a fish on the fly. This is an amazing opportunity that you do not want to miss.
Workshop Notes: All necessary gear and flies and lunch will be provided. You MUST have a valid Oregon fishing license in your possession at the workshop to take part in the fishing activities. One-day licenses will be available at the event for $16.75. Primitive camping (tents only please) will be available on a first come, first serve basis at the hatchery for those who are interested - we apologize, but there is no room for RVs, trailers or pop-up campers. Early registration is encouraged as this workshop fills fast. First 20 slots reserved for first time participants.
Registration is required and space is limited.
Cancellations received two weeks (14 days) prior to any workshop will receive a full refund, less a 25% processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to a workshop. You may however, send a substitute participant in your place.
All cancellations must be in writing. You can fax cancellations to 503-947-6009 or e-mail them to: Darlene.M.Sprecher@state.or.us. In your written cancellation, please state which workshop you will not be attending, your name, and a phone number in case we have questions. If you intend to send a substitute participant in your place, please give us their name and phone number/e-mail so that we can send them the required paperwork.
