Come on out and learn how to dig and identify Bay Clams and Crabs.
If you plan on digging bay clams after the class, remember your boots, bucket, license, and your favorite shovel. All participants 14 years of age and older are required to have a current Oregon Shellfish License in order to participate in the clamming portion of this workshop.
Class will cover:
Clam ID, Clam Biology, ODFW regulations
Clam digging tips and equipment
Clam Cleaning and Cooking
Crab ID, Regulations
Crabbing equipment, baits
Crab handling, measuring, cleaning
Cancellation Policy
 Cancellations received two weeks (14 days) prior to any workshop will receive a full refund, less a 25% processing fee. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to a workshop. You may however, send a substitute participant in your place.
All cancellations must be in writing. You can fax cancellations to 503-947-6009 or e-mail them to: Darlene.M.Sprecher@state.or.us. In your written cancellation, please state which workshop you will not be attending, your name, and a phone number in case we have questions. If you intend to send a substitute participant in your place, please give us their name and phone number/e-mail so that we can send them the required paperwork.
Jeff Johnson Workshop Scholarship Fund
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Outdoor Skills Education Program is happy to announce the Jeff Johnson Workshop Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund is there to help those people who are not capable of attending a workshop due to financial hardship. It will pay a portion of your fee.
Jeff Johnson was a dedicated instructor for our program and committed a great deal of his time passing his knowledge on to others. In this spirit of giving, the Jeff Johnson Scholarship Fund continues to give when Jeff cannot.
