Corvallis, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife remind youth to register for the Oregon Youth Outdoor Day, June 2 at EE Wilson Wildlife Area sponsored by Ducks Unlimited.
Kids who want to participate need to sign up. Last day for registration is May 24. The entrance fee is $5.00 per person which includes all seminars and lunch for adults and kids as well as a tee shirt, raffle prize and goodie bag for youth. “This is a huge all day event with many activities, one of which is fishing,” says Karen Hans, ODFW STEP Biologist. “It’s a great opportunity for kids to have fun while learning about conservation, hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation.” The Northwest Steelheaders and Senior Fishing Buddies come provide poles and gear for youth to use that day. Volunteers also assist young anglers in addition to cleaning their catch and placing it on ice.
Approximately 800 youth plus their parents were in attendance in 2006.
E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area is located on Highway 99W between Corvallis and Monmouth, Oregon.
