SALEM — The
public is invited
to attend the next
meeting of the
Oregon Department
of Fish and Wildlife’s
Access and Habitat
Board, Tuesday,
Jan. 30 from 9
a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday’s
meeting will include
the appointment
of two regional
advisory council
members and reviews
of several proposed
projects and grant
requests. The afternoon
portion of the
meeting includes
a presentation
about Oregon’s
Conservation Strategy,
a statewide strategy
developed by ODFW
and partners that
takes a voluntary
approach to wildlife
conservation and
seeks to meet
the needs of species
before they become
threatened or
endangered and
more costly to
protect.
An
opportunity for
public comment
about A&H
activities will
be provided at
11:45 a.m. A
teleconference
line is also available
for members of
the public who
wish to participate
in the meeting,
but cannot attend
in person.
The
A&H
Program is funded
by a $2 surcharge
on hunting licenses. Funds
raised by the
program are distributed
through grants
to individual
and corporate landowners,
conservation organizations
and others for
cooperative wildlife
habitat improvement
and hunter access
projects throughout
the state.
Reasonable
