JOHN DAY, Ore. — The public is invited to attend the next meeting of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Access and Habitat (A&H) Board on Wednesday, April 29 at the Malheur National Forest office, 431 Patterson Bridge Road, John Day. The meeting will begin at 8:45 a.m.
The meeting agenda includes a review of projects requesting funding, updates on the program budget and upcoming legislation, appointments of new regional advisory council representatives, and other program business.
A field trip to view local projects funded by the A&H Program is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28. Members of the public may accompany the A&H Board along the tour, but must use their own transportation. To take part, meet at the Best Western Hotel, 315 W Main Street, John Day by 8:45 a.m. as the tour leaves at 9 a.m.
The A&H Program funds projects that provide hunter access or improve wildlife habitat on private land in Oregon. The program is funded by a $2 surcharge on hunting licenses.
An opportunity for public comment will be provided at 10:50 a.m. during Wednesday’s meeting.
