ROSEBURG, Ore. – Young anglers are invited to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s free Youth Angling Enhancement Program Saturday, May 2 at Reinhart Pond in Grant Pass from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Crater Bass Club and ODFW staff will provide fishing equipment and angling instruction. ODFW is stocking 600 legal-sized rainbow trout especially for this event.
“This is a great opportunity designed just for kids,” said ODFW biologist Jay Doino. “While we encourage parents to bring their children out to learn or hone angling skills, we ask adults to leave the fish to the next generation for a few days.”
Anglers 13 years of age and younger can fish for free while a juvenile license is required for anglers 14-17 years of age. All fishing regulations apply.
Reinhart Pond is located at Reinhart Volunteer Park in Grants Pass off Lincoln Road.
