SALEM —The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will host a meeting of the Beaver Working Group on Tues., Feb. 24 in the Commission Room at ODFW Headquarters, 3406 Cherry Ave. NE, Salem.
The meeting will run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The agenda includes results of a literature review and updates on a landowner incentives project, survey projects, beaver relocation guidelines, research projects and Oregon 150 grants focused on beaver habitat.
The goal of the Beaver Working Group is to help improve our understanding of beaver ecology and management in order to maximize the ecological benefits that beaver provide—especially for threatened coastal coho salmon—and minimize any negative economic or other impacts.
The meeting is open to the public, and public comment will be taken.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for individuals requesting assistive hearing devices, sign language interpreters or large-print materials. Individuals needing these types of accommodations may call the Information and Education Division at 800-720-6339 or 503-947-6002 at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting.
