Siletz River clean-up day is April 13

April 3, 2013

NEWPORT, Ore. – The annual Siletz River clean-up will be Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

After the 9 a.m. check in at Hee Hee Illahee Park in Siletz, volunteers will be dispersed to different parts of the river to walk the banks and float by drift boat to pick up trash and debris. Morning coffee, lunch and raffle prizes will be provided.

Volunteers may pre-register at siletzwatershedcouncil@gmail.com or simply show up the day of the event. All volunteers are encouraged to dress appropriately for Oregon Coast weather (waterproof boots, rain gear, work gloves, etc.). Participants who would like to volunteer their drift boat, should call Aaron Duzik at (503) 621-2433 prior to April 13.

The event is sponsored by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Siletz Watershed Council, SOLVE and several local sponsors.
