Best time to visit: All year. April - August for bird-watching, September - February for hunting, and February - September for fishing.

Parking permit: Beginning Jan. 1, 2012, a parking permit will be required at E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area. Permits can be purchased at ODFW License vendors, at ODFW offices that sell licenses and online at ODFW’s website.

What to see and do

At the wildlife area: E. E. Wilson Wildlife Area offers a diversity of Willamette Valley habitat types. Easy non-motorized access is available via a grid of paved and gravel roads. Hunting opportunities include pheasants, duck, deer, rabbit and quail. A fishing pond is stocked with trout February - June. A variety of upland gamebirds can be viewed all year. An interpretive trail offers an accompanying guide. The wildlife area radio station broadcasts a recorded message 24 hours a day on AM 1140.

When visiting the E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area, be sure and tune your radio to 1140 AM for area information that is broadcast 24 hrs a day. The recording is updated seasonally.

Nearby: Oregon State University's MacDonald Research Forest offers horseback riding, hiking, cycling and interpretive trails as well as PV Arboretum. Baskett Slough and William Finley national wildlife refuges are in the area.
