Klamath Hatchery

Best time to visit: Mid-October - May. Fish eggs and fry are incubated October - July.

Fish raised: Rainbow, cutthroat, brook and brown trout.

What to see and do

At the hatchery: Klamath Hatchery provides legal-sized trout to Klamath and Lake counties, and fingerlings for lakes from the southern Cascade Mountains east to the Idaho border. The hatchery produces about 3 million fish each year.

Travel north on Hwy. 97 from Klamath Falls. Turn left on Hwy. 62, heading toward Crater Lake. Proceed eight miles. The hatchery entrance is on the right.
