Fish raised: Chinook salmon and rainbow trout

What to see and do

At the hatchery: Marion Forks Hatchery offers a large pond where visitors can feed adult rainbow trout. Adult steelhead and salmon can be viewed at Minto Pond adult salmon holding facility June - October. See spawning chinook salmon in Horn Creek from late Aug. through Sept. Conifer forest provides good viewing for deer, elk, grouse, American dipper, belted kingfisher, osprey, bald eagle, blue heron and waterfowl seasonally.

Nearby: There is camping nearby in a U.S. Forest Service campground. Access to fishing on the North Santiam River and wilderness trailheads also is nearby. Detroit Lake is about 18 miles west and offers swimming, boating, fishing, lodging and restaurants.
