Roaring River Hatchery

Roaring River Hatchery

Best time to visit: All year. November - December for trout spawning.

Fish raised: Rainbow trout, and summer and winter steelhead.

What to see and do

At the hatchery: Roaring River Hatchery has an outdoor display board and interpretive signing on the hatchery ponds. Rainbow trout weighing up to 15 pounds each are a popular viewing feature.

Nearby: A Linn County park, about 1/2 mile away, offers picnicking and fishing on Roaring River.

Take the Hwy. 20 exit off I-5 at Albany. Travel east for six miles to Hwy. 226. Travel north four miles on Hwy. 226. Turn right on Fish Hatchery Drive and proceed seven miles. Cross the Larwood covered bridge, turn right and travel one mile to the hatchery.
