Salmon River Hatchery was constructed in 1975. The facility is used for adult collection, egg incubation and rearing of fall chinook, coho, and summer steelhead.
Best time to visit: October - December.
Fish raised: Chinook and coho salmon, and steelhead.

There is an inside display area describing hatchery operations. Adult fish are present during fall and early winter. The facility is located in one of the most scenic areas of the Oregon coast.
Nearby: Salmon River and its estuary offer fishing and viewing. Hiking is popular at nearby Cascade Head.
Take Hwy. 18 to Otis. Turn north at Otis onto Scenic Drive. Travel 1/2 mile and turn right onto North Bank Road. Proceed 1/2 mile and turn right at the hatchery sign.
