Spring bear hunt applications due by Feb. 10

February 7, 2020

SALEM, Ore.—Spring bear hunters are reminded that the deadline to apply for a spring bear hunt is Monday, Feb. 10 at 11:59 p.m.

Apply online or at a license sales agent or ODFW office that sells licenses. Hunters visiting the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show at the Portland Expo Center this weekend can also apply at ODFW’s booth (Hall C, Spot 539).

To apply online, login to your account at https://odfw.huntfishoregon.com/login and go to Purchase from the Catalog / Big Game Hunting to select the Black Bear 700 Series Controlled Hunt Application. A 2020 Annual Hunting License is required to apply. Proceed to checkout to complete your hunt application and select your hunt choices (under Order Summary).

Remember the SW Oregon spring bear hunt is now a controlled hunt and requires application.

Hunt results will be available by Feb. 20.

Successful spring bear applicants are still required to purchase their tag no later than the day before the season begins. New for 2020, all spring bear hunting seasons begin April 1, so the deadline to purchase is Tuesday, March 31.

Sports Pac license holders also need to claim their spring bear tag by “purchasing” it online (at no additional cost), or picking it up at a license sale agent, no later than March 31.
