Fishing in Oregon
Oregon Trout

available 365 days a year

Spring   Summer   Fall   Winter

What’s in Season:

  • Sea-run cutthroat trout are well-distributed in coastal streams and rivers. Through September and October, look for them higher in rivers and streams where they will be feeding on salmon eggs, insects and crayfish. These rivers and streams close to trout fishing Oct. 31, so don’t miss out on this often overlooking fishery!
  • Trout stocking resumes in several popular and accessible water bodies throughout the state. Many are stocked in time for the Labor Day holiday, but in some locations stocking can continue into October and November. Check the trout stocking schedules for specific locations.
  • Fishing in eastside rivers and streams will improve as evenings start to cool down and daytime temperatures moderate –good conditions for both fish and anglers!
