The Black & Green Fellowship and Internship program engages Black youth from Beaverton high schools in culturally grounded outdoor education and workforce development. In partnership with BBPU, THPRD will deliver one Fellowship session for 15 students and two paid internship cohorts, building environmental literacy, confidence, and wellness. Interns will support the Nature Mobile and nature camps through the Tualatin Hills Nature Center. Program activities take place at Tualatin Hills and Cooper Mountain Nature Parks and promote awareness of Oregon Conservation Strategy Species, including amphibians, native birds, and wetland vegetation found in these diverse urban habitats.
