Our project goal is to provide safe passage for wildlife within two corridors on Interstate-84 in NE Oregon - between mileposts 227 and 234 and between 246 and 253, to accomplish three important goals; 1) lower wildlife-vehicle collisions as measured by ODOT, 2) improve landscape permeability, 3) increase wildlife resilience to climate change, particularly drought and wildfires. Wildlife underpasses and overpasses are proven to reduce collisions while also increasing landscape permeability. A diverse group of wildlife species stand to benefit from this project including mule deer, white- tailed deer, Rocky Mountain elk, black bear, bobcat, and OCS species Pacific marten, and grey wolf.
