Plover Patrol: Building the Next Generation of Coastal Conservationists

Bird Alliance of Oregon (BAO)
$31,955  Nearshore

The Plover Patrol project will enhance over 40 acres of critical nesting habitat for the Western Snowy Plover—a federally listed Threatened species and Oregon Conservation Strategy Species—across six coastal sites from Clatsop Spit to Sand Lake in Tillamook County. Through invasive species removal, oyster shell scattering, and community-led cleanups, the project will reduce threats to plovers while engaging over 120 local volunteers and 160 middle school students in hands-on conservation and education efforts.
