The World Salmon Council is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible environmental education across the Pacific Northwest. Through our flagship program, Salmon Watch, we deliver experiential learning focused on Pacific wild salmon and their ecosystems, combining classroom instruction, in-stream field studies, and community service projects. Our primary goal is to engage underserved youth in the greater Portland area with hands-on science education, while fostering environmental stewardship, equitable access to natural spaces, and pathways to careers in natural resources. By inspiring the next generation to protect and restore salmon habitats, Salmon Watch directly supports Oregon Conservation Strategy Species, including Coho and Chinook salmon.
