ODFW’s Natural and Working Lands Program

State Wildlife Action Plan Farm Bill Biologists

Connection with the Natural and Working Lands program:

Farm Bill Biologists, also called Conservation Liaisons or NRCS Partner Biologists, work in partnership with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) offices around the state to provide additional implementation capacity and biological expertise for development of Farm Bill Programs, such as the Conservation Stewardship Program, Environmental Quality Incentives Program, Wetland Reserve Easements, etc. These biologists work directly with private landowners to support fish and wildlife habitat improvements on natural and working lands.

There are currently five Farm Bill Biologists around the state in Tillamook, Tangent, The Dalles, Redmond/Prineville, and Klamath Falls. Collectively, these biologists interact with hundreds of landowners annually to promote resilient habitats by recommending climate smart practices that will benefit fish and wildlife, as well as people.
