RENO, Nev. — An Oregon statewide combination deer and elk tag was auctioned for $40,000 at the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s annual convention in Reno, Nev. on Feb. 22.
The auction tag awards the winning bidder an extended hunting season from Sept. 1 – Nov. 30, 2008 anywhere in Oregon where there is an authorized season for deer and elk.
The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Access and Habitat Program will use funds from the auction for wildlife habitat and hunter access projects throughout the state.
