2008 zone-by-zone Oregon steelhead angling forecast released
SALEM, Ore.—State fisheries officials today announced the 2008 Steelhead Angling Forecast, a statewide overview of the state’s stocking and fishery management work for steelhead.
The report is compiled annually by district fisheries biologists, and is popular among steelhead anglers looking for winter, spring and summer opportunities.
“The annual steelhead angling forecast includes information important to beginning, novice and experienced anglers – everything from local fish stocking figures to management and regulation changes, to tips on where to find bank and boat access points,” said Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Recreational Fisheries Program Manager, Rhine Messmer.
“For some anglers, catching a steelhead is the ultimate prize. We believe the information in the steelhead forecast will help make for a better fishing experience and hopefully lead to hooking that “prize” fish.”
