Conservation Values Protected: This property protects conservation values such as riparian floodplain forest, side channel habitat, and various types of wetland habitat, including palustrine emergent, palustrine forested, riverine, and open water wetlands. These conservation values provide habitat for the following Oregon conservation strategy species: juvenile spring Chinook salmon, steelhead, Oregon chub, northwestern red-legged frogs, and northwestern western pond turtles. Other species that benefit are bald eagles, osprey, great blue herons, and migratory waterfowl. The property is adjacent to Green Island, a large existing conservation area also enrolled in the Willamette Wildlife Mitigation Program. Green Island is actively managed for fish and wildlife habitat and water quality protection, including restored floodplain connectivity and integration into the dynamic riverine landscape.
