Conservation Values Protected: This property protects conservation values such as: oak woodland habitat, which contains a mix of native trees including Oregon white oak; upland mixed conifer forest which contains healthy mixed Douglas fir, Western hemlock, Doolittle Creek and its associated riparian habitats; and Western red cedar; and native grassland, complete with grassland plant communities in relatively good condition and with populations of rare plants. These protected conservation values provide refuge and native habitat for plant and bird species, including habitats Oregon conservation strategy species and other federal Species of concern, including but not limited to shaggy horkelia; pileated woodpecker and Western gray squirrel. Other important conservation values protected by Cerro Gordo are connectivity to other conservation properties managed primarily for habitat and water quality protection.
