• After reviewing public input, ODFW prepares a report on proposed changes for the September Pacific Fishery Management Council.
  
  

• The Pacific Fishery Management Council meets September 7-14, 2023, in Spokane, WA and considers proposals for changes to the Catch Sharing Plan. Council home page
  
  
• The Council approves some, none, or all proposals (including any that are developed at the Council meeting) for additional public comment.
  
  

• ODFW solicits additional public comment at a public meeting (also by Teams) on specific proposals approved by the Council for additional consideration. An online survey was available to people who were unable to attend the public meeting.

• After considering public input, ODFW prepares a report to the Pacific Fishery Management Council for decision at the November Council meeting.
  
  
• The International Pacific Halibut Commission (IPHC) accepts public requests for 2024 regulatory changes (e.g., season length) or management actions for review at its annual meeting in January. A form and more information are on the IPHC regulations page.
  
  

• The Council adopts final changes for the 2024 Catch Sharing Plan at its meeting, November 1-8, 2023 in Garden Grove, CA.
  
  

• IPHC holds an interim meeting, November 30-December 1, 2023.
