An aggregation of Brook Lamprey building a redd in the Clatskanie river in early May, 2023. Although they may look like eels, they are not. They are jawless fish that have been around for centuries! Oregon Adult Salmonid Inventory and Sampling (OASIS) project surveyor Mahima White.   2 adult Pacific Lamprey observed during a spawning survey on the Kilchis River on 5-11-23. OASIS surveyors David Griffeth and Brenna Blankenship.
