Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is developing its budget proposal for the 2023-25 biennium through a public process.
Four virtual, listening sessions will be held in April for the public to participate in. At these meetings an overview of the draft 2023-25 budget will be provided followed by a question-and-answer session.
Public comments on the budget can be submitted by email to ODFW.Commission@odfw.oregon.gov or by mail to ODFW Director's Office, 4034 Fairview Industrial Dr. SE, Salem, OR 97302-1142. Comments received by April 13, 2022, will be included with the exhibit on 2023-25 budget development and planning for the Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting on May 13, 2022. Comments received by May 25, 2022, will be included with the draft 2023-25 Agency Request Budget exhibit for the Fish and Wildlife Commission meeting on June 17, 2022. Additionally, written public testimony will be taken up to the date of both Fish and Wildlife Commission meetings referenced above.
ODFW will convene the External Budget Advisory Committee (EBAC) for invited stakeholders and customer representatives —one in March and one in May. An online comments form will be developed, where EBAC members can share input and submit recommendations.
ODFW will present the final draft Agency Request Budget (ARB) for consideration by the Fish and Wildlife Commission during the June 2022 Commission meeting. Following Commission approval, a final ARB will be submitted to the Governor's Office in August 2022. The final ODFW 2023-25 budget will be set by the Legislature during the 2023 Legislative Session.
