SALEM, Ore.—The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has reopened a solicitation process to identify wildlife habitat protection and enhancement projects to be recommended to the Bonneville Power Administration for funding. Project proposals will be accepted until 5 p.m. July 13, 2012.
Projects must be located in the Willamette River Basin and must preserve, protect and perpetuate wildlife and wildlife habitat for the citizens of Oregon.
In 2010, the Bonneville Power Administration and the State of Oregon signed an agreement to settle BPA wildlife habitat mitigation obligations in the Willamette Valley.The agreement provides funding for fish and wildlife habitat conservation and restoration. It will protect a minimum of 16,880 acres of important native habitat for current and future generations.
