LA GRANDE, Ore. — Catherine Creek, a tributary to the Grande Ronde River, will close to fishing for hatchery spring chinook after Saturday, June 30.
“This is the first time a spring chinook fishery has been opened on Catherine Creek since 1978,” said Tim Bailey, ODFW district fish biologist in La Grande. “While the catch has been relatively light, it is meaningful that anglers have had a chance to benefit from the many efforts underway to restore the chinook run in Catherine Creek.”
