SALEM, Ore. -- ODFW announced today it has canceled the April 27 lottery for two commercial brine shrimp permits.

The lottery was canceled when two existing permit holders decided to appeal the revocation of their permits. The state issues only three commercial permits to harvest brine shrimp from Lake Abert in southeast Oregon.

The appeals will be heard by commercial Fishery Permit Review Board sometime within the next few months.
