Kids can learn to fish at June 3 free fishing event at Pine Nursery Park

Tuesday, May 30, 2017

BEND, Ore. – The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Bend Park and Recreation District invite young anglers to learn to fish at a free event this Saturday, June 3 at the Pine Nursery Park pond.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. ODFW staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide instruction to kids 17 and under. Loner rods, reels and tackle will be available, and the pond will be stocked with rainbow trout before the event.

June 3-4 also is Free Fishing Weekend, which means participants in the Pine Nursery Park event will not need a license.
