SALEM, Ore.—Oregon's Fish Screening Task Force will meet Thursday, July 13 at ODFW’s Enterprise District Office, 65495 Alder Slope Road, Enterprise. The meeting will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is open to the public. Several project sites will be visited by the Task Force Thursday afternoon and the morning of Friday, July 14.
The agenda includes a request from a water user on White River to waive a fish screen requirement, updates on the ODFW Fish Screen Program, and an overview of projects in northeast Oregon. Fish screens prevent the loss of fish when water is used for irrigation, municipal, hydroelectric or other beneficial purposes. ODFW coordinates a cost share program for the installation of fish screens and passage at water diversions.
The seven-member Fish Screening Task Force advises ODFW on fish screening policies and issues. Task Force members represent agriculture, fishing and conservation, and the general public. Additional information on the Task Force or the ODFW Fish Screening Program is available on the ODFW website or by contacting Alan Ritchey, ODFW Fish Screening and Passage Program Manager, (503) 947-6229 or Alan.D.Ritchey@state.or.us.
Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for individuals requesting assistive hearing devices, sign language interpreters or large-print materials. Individuals needing these types of accommodations may call the Information and Education Division at 800-720-6339 or 503-947-6002 at least 24-hours in advance of the meeting.
