ODFW to host public meetings on commercial nearshore fishery in mid-September
NEWPORT, Ore. – ODFW will discuss the commercial black and blue rockfish and nearshore fisheries at three public meetings in Gold Beach, Port Orford, and Pacific City in mid-September.
Geared primarily to commercial fishers with black and blue rockfish and nearshore permits, the agenda for the meetings will include:
- Pacific Fishery Management Council update including stock assessment results for 2019–20 specifications for:
- lingcod
- yelloweye rockfish
- blue/deacon Rockfish
- Review of the 2017 season to date
- Process and options for setting 2018 regulations
- Results from the 2016 fishery management mail survey
- Input from industry and others interested in 2018 commercial nearshore fishery state management
All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held:
- Monday, Sept. 11, Pacific Reef Resort, 29362 Ellensburg Hwy 101, Gold Beach
- Tuesday, Sept. 12, Port Orford Library, 1421 Oregon St., Port Orford
- Thursday, Sept. 14, Kiawanda Community Center, 34600 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City
