SALEM, Ore.—ODFW’s Fish Restoration and Enhancement Board will meet on Friday, Sept. 14 in Winchester Bay.

The Friday meeting is from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Marine Activities Center at Winchester Bay RV Resort, 120 Marina Way. The agenda includes reviewing project proposals, discussing development of board priorities and funding strategies, and program updates. The meeting is open to the public, and there will be an opportunity for public comment. After the meeting, from 2:00 p.m. --5:00 p.m., the board will tour several facilities around the local area.

On Thursday, Sept. 13 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the board will tour several projects and facilities around the Coquille Valley, including jointly visiting several locations with the ODFW Commission. At 6:00 p.m. the board will meet at the Blue Heron Bistro in Coos Bay for a dinner meeting to discuss the 2019 R&E program reauthorization with ODFW Director’s office.

Members of the public may accompany the group during the tour but must provide their own transportation. For additional information on the field trip, contact R&E Program staff at (503) 947-6211.

Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed for individuals requesting assistive hearing devices, sign language interpreters or large-print materials. Created by the Oregon Legislature in 1989, the Fish Restoration and Enhancement Program is funded by a surcharge on sport and commercial fishing licenses and commercial poundage fees. The program’s seven-member citizen board reviews fish restoration and enhancement project proposals and makes funding recommendations to the Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission.
