NEWPORT, Ore. – ODFW will discuss the commercial black and blue rockfish and nearshore fisheries at three public meetings in Pacific City, Port Orford and Brookings in mid-September.
Geared primarily to commercial fishers with black and blue rockfish and nearshore permits, the agenda for the meetings will include:
- Pacific Fishery Management Council update including state harvest specifications for 2019–20 for:
- black rockfish
- lingcod
- yelloweye rockfish
- blue/deacon rockfish
- Review of the 2018 season to date
- Process and options for setting 2019 regulations
- Update on ODFW fishery independent surveys
- Input from industry and others interested in 2019 commercial nearshore fishery state management
All meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held:
- Thursday, Sept. 13, Kiawanda Community Center, 34600 Cape Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City
- Monday, Sept. 17, Port Orford Library, 1421 Oregon St., Port Orford
- Tuesday, Sept. 18, Chetco Community Public Library, 405 Alder Street, Brookings
