Take survey by Oct. 3 to provide input on proposed changes to the Columbia River Subarea recreational Pacific halibut fishery

Thursday, September 27, 2018

NEWPORT, Ore.—The Pacific Fishery Management Council has forwarded two proposed changes to the 2019 recreational Pacific halibut all-depth fishery in the Columbia River Subarea (Leadbetter Point, WA to Cape Falcon, OR) for public review.

One proposed change is to the opening date, the other is to the number of days open per week.

To provide input on these two specific proposals, ODFW has an online survey available. The survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete, and will be used to inform ODFW’s recommendation to the Council on the proposed changes. The survey can be found at https://oregondas.allegiancetech.com/cgi-bin/qwebcorporate.dll?idx=4HGJ96 The survey will be available through Wednesday, Oct. 3.

There are no changes under consideration by the Council for the 2019 recreational halibut fisheries in the Central Oregon Coast or Southern Oregon Subareas.
