September 4, 2020

SALEM, Ore.- A bull elk was shot and left to waste in a pond near the Valsetz Mainline road in Polk County on Aug 20. The animal’s head had been removed and taken.

Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife Troopers received a tip that the bull elk had been killed and left to waste. Troopers went to the scene, which was near mile post 16 on the Valsetz Mainline. They found the animal in water, south of the rock quarry. The head had been cut off and taken, the rest of the elk was left to waste.
