Wenaha Wildlife Area closed, forest-wide closure in effect

SALEM, Ore. – Due to the Elbow Creek fire in the northeast part of the state, ODFW has closed the Wenaha Wildlife Area as of July 16.

The Umatilla National Forest is also closed at this time to public use.

Staff at the Wenaha Wildlife Area assisted Oregon Department of Forestry crews on Thursday night with creating fire lines to protect housing and other structures on the property.
