ALSEA, Ore. – ODFW is seeking two new board members to represent Wild Fish Advocacy and Fish Habitat Restoration on the Oregon Hatchery Research Center Board. The successful candidates will serve a four-year term.
Candidates must submit an application and provide three references by Jan. 31, 2022. The ODFW Director will appoint the new members. The application is available on the ODFW web site at www.dfw.state.or.us/fish/OHRC/recruitments.asp.
The Board is charged with advising the OHRC Director on operational, budget and research priorities at the Center. As directed by Oregon House Bill 3441, the OHRC Board is required to include 12 members representing a variety of groups including wild fish advocacy and fish habitat restoration. The OHRC is a cooperative endeavor of ODFW and OSU. The center's mission is to be an internationally recognized leader in fisheries science, conducting research to define the mechanisms that may create differences between hatchery and wild salmonids, recommending strategies to manage those differences, and educating Oregonians about the benefits, risks, roles and performance of hatcheries in fisheries augmentation and conservation.
