The CFPB will receive an orientation on CFPB responsibilities and procedures from staff and will review and prepare final orders on seven commercial fisheries permit contested case hearings, provided there is a quorum available for that fishery. If a quorum is not available, cases will be scheduled to be reviewed at a later date.

The CFPB will review and prepare final orders on the following hearings (pending time and availability of a quorum):

  • Charles Case, Limited Entry Rockfish Permit # 60324
  • Wade Buckmaster, Limited Entry Rockfish Permit # 58089
  • James Gerritsen, Pink Shrimp Permit # 90222
  • Daniel Brookins, Ocean Salmon Troll Permit # 62322
  • David Shogren, Ocean Salmon Troll Permit # 60006
  • Aaron Weinzinger, Ocean Salmon Troll Permit # 62874
  • Michael Schacher/Bounty Fisheries, Ocean Salmon Troll Permit # 62010

The CFPB meets quarterly or as needed to review contested case hearings for commercial fishery permit reinstatements. CFPB members represent Ocean Troll Salmon, Columbia River Gillnet, Ocean Crab, Pink Shrimp, Sea Urchin, Yaquina Bay Roe Herring, Black and Blue rockfish, and other developmental or limited entry participant commercial fisheries. Members are required to hold a valid commercial fishing permit for the fishery they represent. In addition, the CFPB has two members that represent the general public at large.

Public wishing to listen may do so virtually via MS Teams or phone. Request access to the meeting by contacting Jeannine Smith, ODFW License Services Manager at 503-947-6112 or at Jeannine.c.smith@odfw.oregon.gov. A request for an interpreter for the hearing impaired or for other accommodations for persons with disabilities should be made at least 48 hours before the meeting.
