NEWPORT, Ore – The public is invited to discuss 2023 draft recreational Pacific halibut and groundfish regulations on Oct. 5. at the ODFW Newport office, 2040 SE Marine Science Dr. from 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. An online option is available through Microsoft Teams (information below).
ODFW manages Pacific halibut in partnership with the Pacific Fishery Management Council (Council) and seeks feedback on several proposals including the season start date and possible open days per week.
ODFW marine fishery managers also will review preliminary recommendations for the 2023 recreational groundfish fishery. The Oregon Fish and Wildlife Commission will consider the recommendations at their Dec. 16 meeting.
