PORTLAND, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife will host a meeting on Thursday, July 27 to share a draft land management plan for Palensky Wildlife Area, a Bonneville Power Administration owned property that is managed by ODFW. The meeting is open to the public and will take place from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Sauvie Island Grange Hall located at 14443 NW Charlton Rd, Portland.
After a short presentation, ODFW staff will answer questions and take public comments on the proposed plan. Read the draft plan here.
The ten-year plan will guide management actions on the 440-acre property. Palensky Wildlife Area (formerly Burlington Bottoms) is composed of riparian forest and wetlands, nestled between the Multnomah Channel and U.S. Hwy 30. The draft plan calls for ODFW to maintain and enhance native plant species, add habitat complexity, manage invasive plants, and monitor the habitat over time. Please note there is no public access on this property.
Comments on the plan will be accepted until August 10 through this form or by emailing Lauri Brewster at lauri.b.brewster@odfw.oregon.gov.
