SALEM, Ore. – Artwork entered in ODFW's annual stamp art contest will be on display at the Bush Barn Art Center in Salem on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 12:00-4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The Bush Barn Art Center is located at Bush's Pasture Park, 600 Mission St. SE, Salem.
Each year, ODFW holds the Habitat Conservation Stamp, Upland Game Bird Stamp, and Waterfowl Stamp art contests. Submissions in the 2024 stamp art contest will be on display Nov. 4.
Art entries for the Habitat Conservation Stamp category each year must feature an eligible species from the Oregon Conservation Strategy in its natural habitat.
Entries for the 2024 Waterfowl Stamp must feature the trumpeter swan in its natural habitat setting and entries for the 2024 Upland Game Bird Stamp must feature the gray partridge in its natural habitat setting.
A panel will judge artwork based on artistic composition, anatomical accuracy of the species and general appeal. The winning artist in each contest receives a $2,000 award and winning artwork is used to produce collector stamps and other promotional items with sale proceeds benefitting Oregon's fish, wildlife and their habitats.
Sales from the purchase of Waterfowl, Upland Game Bird and Habitat Conservation Stamp products help fund research, surveys, habitat improvement and conservation projects. View winning entries from previous years or order stamps/prints at https://www.dfw.state.or.us/stamp_contest/index.asp.
