ODFW announces winners of annual stamp art contests

SALEM, Ore. – The winning artwork was selected for the 2025 Waterfowl, Upland Game Bird, and Habitat Conservation stamp art contests. This year’s artwork was judged at ODFW Headquarters in Salem on Oct. 29 by a panel of independent judges. The winning artwork will be featured on collector stamps and other promotional items that support wildlife and habitat conservation efforts in Oregon.

A total of 21 entries were received for the Upland Game Bird, showcasing the California quail. For Waterfowl Stamp, 14 entries depicted Barrow’s goldeneye, ring-necked duck, and white-winged scoter. Additionally, 19 entries showcased select strategy species for the Habitat Conservation contest.

In the Waterfowl Stamp category, first place went to Jeffrey Klinefelter of Etna Green, Ind., for his artwork featuring a ring-necked duck.Click here to view 2025 Waterfowl stamp artwork winners, People’s Choice award and other entries.

For the Upland Game Bird category, Buck Spencer of Junction City, Ore., claimed first place with his portrayal of the California quail. Click here to view 2025 Upland Game Bird stamp artwork.

Terri Neal of Portland, Ore., secured first place in the Habitat Conservation category with her depiction of an American pika. Click here to view 2025 Habitat Conservation stamp artwork.

Each first-place artist will receive a prize award of $2,000 in recognition of their exceptional talent and contribution to wildlife conservation. The winning artwork will serve as the face of the 2025 collector stamps and various promotional items, with proceeds from sales dedicated to vital habitat improvement, research, surveys, and conservation projects.
