SALEM, Ore. – The PFA Grant Program, administered by ODFW, funded its second round of projects last week and awarded more $10.3 million to 23 projects throughout Oregon.
This year's PFA funding prioritized projects that directly impact the health and sustainability of fish and wildlife populations. These carefully selected projects represent a strategic investment in Oregon's aquatic biodiversity and align with the program's goal of providing the most conservation benefit for Habitat Conservation Plan species.

“This $10 million investment is a continued step forward in conserving our state's irreplaceable fish and wildlife resources,” said Jessica Watson, ODFW Acting Habitat Division Administrator. By supporting these diverse conservation projects, we continue to advance our goal to ensure a healthy environment for these species and for generations to come.”
PFA funding is directed at restoring critical spawning grounds, migratory corridors, and other impactful bottlenecks for fish and wildlife. Projects will work to improve water quality, remove invasive species, and restore native plant communities. Funding also targets projects focused on the recovery of the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Private Forest Accord Habitat Conservation Plan-covered species list, which includes all native salmon and trout, amphibians and more.
“The PFA Grant Program is an incredible opportunity to move the dial toward conservation and recovery for some of Oregon’s most sensitive fish and amphibians,” said Andy Spyrka, ODFW’s PFA Grant Coordinator. “With significant investment from the State of Oregon and timber harvest tax revenue, this grant fund will be capable of delivering millions in conservation grants every year.”
The next opportunity to apply for a PFA grant is planned for Fall 2025 and will award millions more in funding.
