Authorize sales for Columbia River Treaty commercial fall gillnet fisheries
Adopted 9/18/2024: effective 9/23/2024 through 12/31/2024.
These amended rules authorize the sales of fish caught in Zone 6 treaty commercial gillnet fisheries. This modification adds two fishing periods from September 23 through September 28 and from September 30 through October 4.

Modify Columbia River late fall commercial gillnet fishery and modify commercial tangle net fishery
Adopted 9/18/2024: effective 9/19/2024 through 12/31/2024.
This rule authorizes four commercial non-treaty gillnet fishing periods in the mainstem Columbia River commercial Zones 4-5 for September 19-20, September 22-23, September 24-25, and September 26-27.
Additionally, this rule adds an additional period to the on-going late-fall commercial tangle net fishery for September 19.

Modify recreational fall-season salmon fisheries in the Columbia River
Adopted 9/18/2024: effective 9/20/2024 through 12/31/2024.
This amended rule adds Chinook retention to the daily adult bag limit for the Columbia River recreational salmon fishery from the Buoy 10 line at the mouth of the river upstream to the west Puget Island line from September 23 through September 30. It also opens a Chinook and coho retention period for the fishery from the west Puget Island line upstream to the Warrior Rock/Bachelor Island line from September 20 through September 30.
Additionally, it extends the on-going Chinook and coho retention period from the Warrior Rock/Bachelor Island line upstream to the Oregon/Washington border (upstream of McNary Dam) through September 30.

Adopted 9/18/2024: effective 9/21/2024 through 12/31/2024.
This amended rule will open retention of coho salmon in areas of the Willamette Zone where retention is not currently allowed under permanent rule. The rule will also allow use of two rods while angling in specific areas of the Willamette Zone upstream of Willamette Falls.

This amended rule will close the recreational white sturgeon retention fishery on the mainstem Columbia River in the John Day Pool (John Day Dam upstream to McNary Dam) and all adjacent tributaries.

This amended rule closes retention of steelhead in portions of the John Day River from September 25 through December 31.

This amended rule extends the on-going Chinook retention period from Buoy 10 upstream to the OR/WA border through October 13. This rule also clarifies the regulations in effect for the Columbia River Zone section of several tributaries of the Columbia River from the mainline railroad bridge on those creeks downstream to the confluence with the Columbia River.

This amended rule authorizes the sales of fish caught in Zone 6 treaty commercial gillnet fisheries. This rule modifies the already adopted fishing period from September 30 through October 4 to remove the gillnet mesh size restriction and adds a fishing period from October 7 through October 11.

This rule authorizes nine 12-hour commercial non-treaty gillnet fishing periods in the mainstem Columbia River commercial Zones 4-5 on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights from September 29 to October 18.
- Eagle Creek (Clackamas) angling closure from Southeast Dowty Road downstream to the Clackamas River confluence.

This amended rule will temporarily close the lowest reach of Eagle Creek (Clackamas basin) to angling to provide coho with a safe resting area during current low flows.

Adjust season dates for western Oregon elk General Season Antlerless Elk Damage hunts in 2024.
Adopted: October 1, 2024 – Effective Dates: October 1, 2024 through January 13, 2025
Oregon Administrative Rules establishing seasons and tag numbers for 2024 western Oregon elk hunts were adopted in September 2023. Season dates presented in a map for one western Oregon elk General Season Antlerless Elk Damage hunt area are incorrect as printed in the 2024 Big Game regulations. These rule amendments are needed to correct the seasons published in the referenced Big Game regulations to reflect the accurate dates adopted by the Commission.

Modify steelhead retention in the Rogue and Illinois Rivers
Adopted 10/24/2024: effective 12/1/2024 through 4/30/2025.
This amended rule will reduce the season bag limit to one fish for wild steelhead in the Rogue River up to the confluence of the Illinois River. The rule will also require all wild steelhead to be released in the Illinois River and remaining sections of the Rogue River.

Lift Temporary Low Flow Angling Closure for the Sixes River

This amended rule lifts a temporary closure that went into effect on October 1 on the Sixes River from the Hughes House Boat Ramp upstream to the mouth of Crystal Creek to protect fall Chinook that were vulnerable due to low water conditions. The closure will end on November 1.

This amended rule delays the opening date for the Oregon 2024-2025 ocean commercial Dungeness crab fishery.

This amended rule sets the opening date for the Oregon 2024-2025 ocean commercial Dungeness crab fishery from the Oregon-California border to Cape Falcon, Oregon, and continues to delay the season from Cape Falcon, Oregon, to the Oregon-Washington border until further test fishing is conducted off WA.
