During the meeting, ODFW staff will present information about the 2025-27 budget development process and its strategic approach to developing an ARB. Staff will discuss the nuts and bolts of building the agency’s current service level budget based on statewide instructions and the primary factors driving the agency’s budget outlook.
Staff will also present a few scenarios and strategies for funding the agency’s priorities for 2025-2027 and beyond, including a mix of new investments, potential cost reductions, and fee adjustments. During the meeting, ODFW will ask for attendee perspectives on the solutions and strategies that work best for our partners and the state’s fish, wildlife and their habitats.
After incorporating feedback from the meeting and other public input, ODFW will present a proposed ARB to the Fish and Wildlife Commission at their June 14 meeting in Chiloquin for final approval.
That Commission-approved 2025-27 ARB then goes to the Governor for her consideration. The Governor presents her recommended budget to the 2025 Oregon State Legislature which has the final authority to adopt ODFW’s budget.
