In 2019, Senate Bill 1025 directed ODFW to form a Tillamook Bay Clam Advisory Committee (TBCAC) that would consider issues and make recommendations pertaining to bay clam management. ODFW appointed members to represent commercial, recreational, and conservation interests.
The ODFW Shellfish Program facilitates TBCAC meetings and helps the Committee identify and articulate recommendations the Department will consider for the management of commercial and recreational bay clam fisheries. ODFW was originally scheduled to report back to the legislature in 2022, however that was delayed to 2023 due to Covid restrictions that affected necessary SEACOR field work.

Restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic require TBCAC to meet virtually instead of in person in the Tillamook area. TBCAC meets quarterly.
